Company Profile
Established in the 28th year of the Meiji era,
we are a long-standing Sakagura located in Obi, a town in the former Obi-han Itoshi, Goman Issen Goku, Jōgamachi with a history of over 120 years. Obi prospered as a castle town and is often referred to as “Kyushu’s Little Kyoto.” We specialize in the production of shochu, a traditional distilled spirit, at our esteemed Sakagura.
The representative brand is called “Ginteki” (銀滴).
It was named “Ginteki” by the founder who was deeply moved by the glistening and jewel-like droplets that fell during the initial distillation process, known as “Hanatare” (初留). This exceptional Shochu was once chosen as a “presentation Shochu” when Emperor Showa visited the prefecture.
In search of a more suitable environment for Shochu production, the distillery relocated to Kitago-cho, a neighboring town, in the year 2005. Surrounded by lush green mountains with springs of water from the Ko-Matsuyama mountain range, this town, primarily focused on agriculture, is nurturing a new tradition.
